The Spoils Of War-OIL

   From The Independent

"By 2010 we will need [a further] 50 million barrels a day. The Middle East, with two-thirds of the oil and the lowest cost, is still where the prize lies"

Dick Cheney; US Vice-President, 1999

"The oil of the Iraqi people... is their wealth. We did not [invade Iraq] for oil "

Colin Powell; Press briefing, 10 July 2003

It is reported that our esteemed Western oil companies are set to get a very big chunk of the Iraqi oil profits for at least the next 30 years. They would be allowed to take 75% of the profit for this 30 year period to cover their drilling cost and so forth.   BULLSHIT!

I simply do not have to much to say about this as most of us have known what this war is really about anyway.

I will say this though. We have lost 3,011 troops to Iraq thus far. Bush is going to send more of our people to die for this oil which he and Exxon, Shell and the rest all want.

It is time for Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democrats to cut the funding for all of this bullshit! NOW!

Will Pelosi Deny Bush Funds For Iraq?

"If the president chooses to escalate the war, in his budget request, we want to see a distinction between what is there to support the troops who are there now.

The American people and the Congress support those troops. We will not abandon them. But if the president wants to add to this mission, he is going to have to justify it and this is new for him because up until now the Republican Congress has given him a blank check with no oversight, no standards, no conditions."  Nancy Pelosi made these comments on CBS' "Face the Nation".

In reference to the Republicans being ousted in the past November elections mainly because of the Americans displeasure with the way things have been going in Iraq, Pelosi said that the people were "watching to see what difference this election can make. The president ought to heed their message. ... We should not be obliged to an open-ended war."

When Bush unveils his new ' stay the course ' sham he will also be including some new jobs ideas for Iraq, short-term of course. That would include short term small business loans and the usual crap that goes along with them.

The last that I heard, Iraqi unemployment was at 53% and some say that is a conservative guess and believe that it is much higher.

So far as the jobs program goes? Maybe we should keep an extra eye out to see which one of the Bush Crime Family members manages to get the contracts to implement these ' programs.'
