Will Pelosi Deny Bush Funds For Iraq?

"If the president chooses to escalate the war, in his budget request, we want to see a distinction between what is there to support the troops who are there now.

The American people and the Congress support those troops. We will not abandon them. But if the president wants to add to this mission, he is going to have to justify it and this is new for him because up until now the Republican Congress has given him a blank check with no oversight, no standards, no conditions."  Nancy Pelosi made these comments on CBS' "Face the Nation".

    In reference to the Republicans being ousted in the past November elections mainly because of the Americans displeasure with the way things have been going in Iraq, Pelosi said that the people were "watching to see what difference this election can make. The president ought to heed their message. ... We should not be obliged to an open-ended war."

                                             * * * *

   When Bush unveils his new ' stay the course ' sham he will also be including some new jobs ideas for Iraq, short-term of course. That would include short term small business loans and the usual crap that goes along with them.

   The last that I heard, Iraqi unemployment was at 53% and some say that is a conservative guess and believe that it is much higher.

    So far as the jobs program goes? Maybe we should keep an extra eye out to see which one of the Bush Crime Family members manages to get the contracts to implement these ' programs.'

Gen. Petraeus To Be New Iraq Commander?

    In Sunday's Washington Post in an article on Lt. Gen. David H. Petraeus, Bush's choice to be the number one commander in Iraq, the paper states that the United States has a homefront that is divided over this war after 3,000 deaths of our troops.

   We are only divided? I would say to the Post that we are not divided! We are against this sham, period! I would not call it being divided when the majority would like for our troops to be home instead of getting knocked off like flies in Iraq made possible by a  president(?) who does not give a shit about winning this war or about the deaths of our peoples!

    This is a war for profit as far as this administration is concerned! It is an ongoing war at this point only because our president(?) is to cowardly and ignorant to take the blame for his mis-steps (mistakes). He must be right at all cost, even if it means killing more of our people.

    Anyway, read the article on Gen. Petraeus. He does seem to be a very bright individual. It is to bad that he is in his new position only to serve Bush's ill agenda!
