Somalia Gets Bombed By U.S. and More Troops Are Going To Iraq

    The U.S. took to launching an airstrike in southern Somalia hitting targets that are thought to be hiding suspects in the 1988 bombings of 2  U.S. embassies. It is reported that many people were killed in the actions.

   Neither White House nor the Pentagon would confirm the attacks.

Bush on Wednesday will announce a new war strategy and is expected to call for as many as 20,000 additional troops, according to several senators briefed by the president on Monday.

A day before Bush's nationally televised speech describing his proposal, Sen. Edward Kennedy (news, bio, voting record), a longtime critic of Bush and the war, will propose legislation denying him the billions needed to send more troops to war unless Congress agrees first. Though it was unclear whether the bill would ever reach the full Senate, it could at least serve as a rallying point for the most insistent foes of the Iraq conflict.     ( More Here )

    Bush is bound and determined to keep the United States stuck in Iraq until he leaves office! Maybe we should all get together and lead him on his way out! The Democrats starting impeachment proceedings is a good place to start!

Tony Snow and his Briefing on Monday

   Tony Snow's press briefing today was the usual GOP mouthpiece's attempt at spin.

   Snow was once again very adept at his usual incoherent bullshit, answering questions and really saying nothing.

Q The President, obviously, though, did not read what happened November 7th as a mandate to start bringing troops home.

MR. SNOW: The President believes that -- if you take a look, Jim, at the elections, you can read any number of messages -- I mean, when people were asked in exit interviews what was their top concern, Iraq was number four, corruption was number one. And guess what? You had 10 members of the Republican caucus who had problems, and they all lost. So you can read a lot of results. There is an understandable -- people don't want to be at war; we don't want to be at war, the President doesn't want to be at war. But the fact is you've got a situation where terrorists and a terror network is determined to try to do whatever it can to destabilize this country and other parts of the world --

Q But the President is comfortable, then, with saying to the American people, I saw what happened November 7th -- actually, you're upset about corruption?
