FoxNews.com has a story up about those critics of the upcoming auto bailout which I found interesting to read. What really caught my eye was one critic and the things which he said. Obviously, that would be the asshat Senator from Kentucky,Mitch McConnell.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, one of the Republicans considering filibuster options, said he doesn't see the benefit of bailing out an industry that hasn't provided a plan for "long-term viability."
Mr. McConnell, did the financial sector, which you helped bailout, provide you with a plan for "long-term viability" before you voted to give them $700 billion of taxpayer cash? If they did, myself and the rest of the taxpayers would like to see that plan. You know as well as I do Mitch, that there was no plan put forth by Wall Street before you and the rest of the Congress gave them an early Christmas gift. So cut the crap boy!
"The draft plan released yesterday fails to require the kind of serious reform that will ensure long-term viability for struggling auto companies. By giving the government the option of canceling government assistance in the event that reforms are not being achieved -- rather than requiring it -- we open the door to unlimited federal subsidies in the future," McConnell, R-Ky., said.
"I want to support a bill that revives this industry. But I will not support a bill that revives the patient with taxpayer dollars yet doesn't secure a commitment that the patient will change its ways so future help isn't needed," he added.
Am I to assume, Mr. McConnell, that since you have no problem with the auto industry going under along with all of the jobs lost, that you drive a foreign vehicle?
You sir, are fucking pathetic. So is the rest of your party and that is why you will be in the minority for a very long time.
There was one other character,Daniel Mitchell from the libertarian Cato Institute who had an idea.
...said the government should have no role in helping the industry, except to provide positive economic conditions -- "a lower corporate tax rate, less red tape and things like that," he said.
The Republican cure all for everything! Less taxes, and less regulation! What part of stupid do they not understand?
