GOP Breaking Promises Already…

….which shouldn’t be a shocker to those of us who keep our eyes on this merry band of corporate henchmen. Their latest gimmick to those who were dumb enough to vote for them ( A Pledge To America ) was changed on only the GOP’s first day in control of the House. My,my,my. That’s a pretty fast change of heart for even a Republican!

By the way, the “ Pledge to America” that the Rethugnicans promised to the their simple minded supporters is basically the same as their “Contract With America” back in 1994. The old promises with the same old results. NOTHING!

That $100 billion budget cut that they said would be done in their first year is not going to happen.

What is more, Republicans juiced up the $100 billion promise in the first place by using as their starting point President Barack Obama's $1.128 trillion budget request, a theoretical figure that was never approved by Congress.                MSNBC

Next up, the Rethugnicans promised reforms in Congress. Well guess what? That ain’t gonna happen either.

"We will let any lawmaker — Democrat or Republican — offer amendments to reduce spending," the pledge said. "House Democrats have relied heavily on what are known as 'martial law' procedures during the current Congress, particularly provisions that allow them to bring any bill to the floor with little or no notice and deny Republican members of Congress or even factions of their own party their right to debate and offer amendments or substitutes for consideration or vote."

This is generally being done so that the Democrats cannot make an attempt to preserve some of the more important parts of the Health Care law. The Republicans would have a harder time doing away with the law or changes to the law if they can’t force an up or down vote.

You asked for it, and you are going to get it in ways that you never imagined, voters. We’ll see how well you still like the GOP when 2012 rolls around.

The GOP’s Greatest Hits For Wednesday,January 5..

…and as you have probably guessed, it was much cheap talk and lies about everything in government.

We will begin with that rag Republican congressional member from the state of Tennessee, Diane Black, who wants to repeal the health care reform bill and who also happens to think that those poor insurance companies should not have to insure children who have pre-existing conditions. A typical Rethugnican.

As was noted by Jed Lewison who writes at DailyKos, this woman doesn’t even know what is in the law which she is talking about. The age to which parents can keep their kids on their insurance is 26,not 24. I guess that it is time to ask former President Bush if I can get the “Hooked on Phonics” set back from him so that I can send it to Rep.Black.     Laughing out loud

The next Rethugnican asshhat will be up in my next post later this evening.

The New Republican House

The following comments will give an insight as to what the “reality based” citizens of America think that the new Republican majority in the House of Representatives will be like as the latest edition of “Let’s Fuck America” gets under way on Wednesday,January 5,2011.

I'm actually looking forward to the Republican led Clown House. It's going to be hilarious watching the Repugs try to balance appeasing the Teabagger stooges who were stupid enough to vote for them and the corporate lobbyists who funded their campaigns.

Me too. Endless Rethug scandals are fun to watch, even though they aren't good for the country.

If this is anything like 1995, the GOP will discredit themselves pretty quickly. The trouble is getting the rubes who vote for them to see that. One thing they didn't have in 1995 was a 24 hour propaganda channel as they do now.

The loudest cries for war come from those who have never seen one.

Give an Idiot Enough Rope....... Day one.....they read the Constitution out loud.  How many of them will actually attend?  And of those who do show up....how many will be caught sleeping, texting or laughing inappropriately.....during the reading of their beloved Founding Fathers?

Where is the GOP Jobs Bills?  This is now a fair question after January 5th.  Why hasn't the unemployment rate gone down?  Another fair question after January 5th.  Are we better off after January 5th?  What have you done for me lately?  All fair....after January 5th.

One thing that we can more than likely count on from the Republicans is the start of their attempt to gut Social Security under the “we must all sacrifice” slogan in order to cut the deficit  This is utter non-sense since Social Security does not add to the deficit in the first place.   Of course, we all know that the GOP owe their masters in the insurance industry so Obama’s health reform will be the first thing to go if the Repugs have their way.

Birds Dropping Like Flies…

this time in Louisiana only 3 days after the creatures fell out of the sky in Arkansas.

It was a fairly small bunch of red-winged blackbirds numbering an estimated 500 or so,compared to the 3,000 which fell in Arkansas.

As is a natural occurrence when these rare kinds of things happen, certain groups are asking if the birds kamikaze act was some kind of evil government testing.

Indeed, the EPA’s own policy states that government and industry scientists can treat children as human guinea pigs in chemical experiments, which allows pesticides to be tested on mentally handicapped children and orphans.
