Harry Reid Slipped in His Own Projects

   Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid is beginning to look alot like " the dead of night" Republicans that made it a habit of throwing in home state projects into major bills passed by Congress.

    Mr. Reid slipped in 2 add-ons for his home state of Nevada last week in the last major bill that Congress passed before  saying bye-bye.

   Number 1 was a transfer of federal land in Nevada to state and private control and number 2 was a $4 million grant for a hospice. Neither had been approved by any congressional committee.

Congressional Earmarks 2005!

   Mr. Bush congratulated the 109th Congress for ridding three of the bigger cabinet departments of almost all of their earmarks.

109th Congress: 15,877 earmarks added into spending bills.

    That is up from 6,073 in 2000.
