U.S. Food and Drug Administration has found Salmonella contamination at a peanut plant in Georgia, as was expected.
"We expect the lots of recalled products to continue to expand," Dr. Robert Tauxe of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told reporters in a conference call.
The Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) facility in Blakely, Georgia isn't producing any more products and hasn't been for some time now. the company has recalled all peanut butter and peanut paste produced at the plant since July 1, 2008.
Somebody is in some pretty deep shit over this, to be sure.
