The Vote On Bush's War Plan and Tony Snow's Remarks

   The article is HERE!

    I just have a little comment to make on one of Tony Snow's remarks.

Acknowledging their party is divided on Iraq, Republican leaders are trying to stave off a showdown in Congress by casting Democratic efforts as a political ploy to embarrass the president.

Republicans are also discussing alternative proposals, including one House resolution promising to keep funding for troops in combat.

The White House cautioned lawmakers about the consequences of voting against a buildup.

"The one thing the president has said is, whatever you do, make sure you support the troops," Snow said at the White House. "And the question people who support this resolution will have to ask is, how does this support the troops?"

                                             * * * *

    How indeed, Mr. Snow? I'm going to take a shot in the dark on this one and say that it (1)  makes sure that no more of our men and women go into a war that was/is a wasted effort. (2) It practically guarantees that at least some of our troops will be coming home. (3) With the money that is in the war pipeline as of now, the troops remaining in Iraq will still get their weapons, food, housing and whatever else they need. (4) When the remainder of the money begins to dwindle, then they to will have time to be returned to their families.

   I do not know about you, Mr.Snow, but I would call that supporting our troops!  I for one am sick and tired of hearing the spin from the GOP and its mouthpiece about how we (Democrats and American public) would not be supporting the troops if the funding is stopped.

    Even some of your GOP brethren are coming out against this sham so we cannot all be wrong!

     Mr. Snow, You and the rest of the GOP do not have a clue!
