The latest casualty of this outbreak was a woman living in a long-term care facility and she was in her 80's. The woman's date of death, name, and the facility in which she was living has not been made public.
The other two victims from the state also live in nursing homes which had served the tainted peanut butter. Of course, the state, says that all three of the victims also had other health problems and officials are not confirming that Salmonella had indeed killed them. Source
Thus far there have been seven deaths nationwide linked to the infection.
3 in Minnesota, 2 in Virginia, and 1 each in North Carolina and Idaho.
More than 200 peanut butter and peanut paste products from at least 38 companies have been recalled so far in the ongoing salmonella outbreak, according to the latest count posted on the website of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Xinhua
